WARRIOR STEWARDSHIP IN WYOMING HELPS CONSTRUCT TRAILHEAD PARKING
Two Wolf Foundation concluded it's 2024 programs with an important project in the southern district of the Bridger-Teton National Forest. One of the first operations in a multi-year plan, the establishment of the new Roaring Creek trailhead and trailer parking area serves to increase recreation access to more than 300 miles of the Commissary Ridge hiking trail network.
This project was spearheaded by Tread Lightly! and provided Team 007 a chance to engage in instrumental public land stewardship work that will benefit a multitude of recreation user groups of the Bridger-Teton National Forest.
The expedition took WST 007 through some of the most beautiful areas of Montana, Idaho, and Wyoming. The team established dispersed campsites atop mountains, alongside crystal clear reservoirs, and deep in the forests of the mountainous west.
Upon arrival at the Roaring Creek project site, the team established a basecamp from which they would work to clear downed trees and debris from the parking area in preparation for gravel to be dumped and spread, establishing the new parking area.
Team 007 experienced a once-in-a-lifetime sunrise on the second morning of the trip while camping near Grand Teton National Park. The decision made by the team to break camp in the early morning hours and seek out a prime viewing spot of the Teton range was a special moment during this trip and one that will be remembered forever.
KEMMERER RANGER DISTRICT
Two Wolf Foundation would like to extend a sincere thank-you to the US Forest Service staff of the Kemmerer Ranger District. Warrior Stewardship Team 007 was graciously hosted at the district office in Kemmerer allowing the team to refill potable water and coordinate link-up with our Tread Lightly! counterpart during the conduct of the trip.
