TWO WOLF FOUNDATION RETURNS TO IDAHO
Warrior Stewardship Team 005 brought together six amazing ladies to conduct Two Wolf Foundation's first women's trip. Their mission; complete an 800 mile journey and participate in a multi-day joint trail stewardship project with the Idaho Trails Association to clear winter debris from several hiking trails traversing the Boise National Forest and the Frank Church River of No Return Wilderness.
Flying in from Colorado, Maryland, Missouri, Washington, Georgia, and California, the team rallied in Missoula, MT and quickly began to embrace the adventure that was ahead.
Within a few hours of the final team members being picked up from the airport, the trucks were loaded and it was time to head out to the mountains. The team's first dispersed camp site in the Bitterroot National Forest was the perfect spot for orientation, equipment familiarization, and spectacular views.
With rain and wind on the forecast in the coming days, the clear warm evening was greatly appreciated as the team settled into what would be their new normal for next 6 days.
We covered a lot of information with the team in a very short amount of time. Overviews of gear loadouts, nuances of each rig, tips and tricks for opening and closing each roof top tent were all detailed in camp. Team 005 was ready. After closing remarks from our Executive Director, the team was left on the mountain to prepare dinner and take in a sunset across the Bitterroot Valley.
In the morning, it was time for the team to begin their drive south, crossing into Idaho via Lost Trail Pass and US HWY 93 where they would spend several hours cruising alongside the Salmon River.
On the second night, the team arrived at Fir Creek Campground nestled against the border of the designated Frank Church Wilderness and Bear Valley Creek.
To be continued... In the meantime, check out this incredible team testimonial put together by Team 005 and Ten Four Visuals!
